Guiyou Li Photography raised $700 for Fort McMurray

A wildfire raged through Fort McMurray, Alberta, and threatened an entire city. More than 80,000 people evacuated through smoke and fire and made their way to family, friends, and shelters.

Canadians are acting and I want to be one of them. Since I learned the fire, I decided to donate a portion of my photography business profit to people in need in Alberta.

Up to today, I have donated $700 to Canadian Red Cross. Thanks to everyone who used my photography service. If you have any photo needs, please contact me and I will donate the profit to people in need.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

Today I took my family to the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. As you know this week is March break, you would expect lots of kids there.

Photographing butterfly is actually quite difficult.

First of all, the greenhouse is extremely hot and humid. It took me at least 20 minutes for the fog to go away from my lens.

Secondly, butterflies keep flying. You have little time to capture one while it is static, this makes focus very difficult.

The light condition is not ideal. Sometime I need to push ISO to 1600 to get correct exposure.

As you can see, butterflies are not afraid of people.

There are also birds and fishes in the greenhouse.
